Gift Memberships FAQs

How much does Gift Membership cost?

Gift Membership costs between £60 and £85, depending on which type you choose.

How does Gift Membership work?

Once you purchase the Membership we will send you a Gift Membership voucher via email. This voucher can be used by the recipient to activate their annual Membership whenever they want it to start. All vouchers are active for 12 calendar months from the point of purchase.

Once the Membership has been activated, it will run for a year. Your gift Membership will not begin until activated by the recipient.

Please note you will not receive a physical voucher unless you request one from us. To have a physical voucher sent to you alongside the electronic voucher, please contact membership@rmg.co.uk or phone us on 020 8312 6678 (Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm) Please note that any physical vouchers requested after 18 December will not reach you before Christmas day.

Do I need to enter the recipient's details?

When purchasing a Gift Membership you will be prompted to enter your own details, not the details of the person you are gifting the Membership to. This is to help us process the Gift Membership and to send you a digital copy of the Membership voucher. None of these details will be linked to the new Membership when it is activated.

The gift recipient can give us all their preferred contact details when they activate the Membership.

You, as the purchaser, will receive the Gift Membership voucher. This can then be forwarded on to the recipient, or you can print out the digital voucher to give to them in person.

Activate your Gift Membership

Your year of exploration will start when you activate your Membership using the voucher code.

Activate at the Museum:

Bring your gift voucher to any admissions desk at Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory or the National Maritime Museum

Activate by Phone:

Call the Membership office on 020 8312 6678 (Mon-Fri 9.00-17.00)
