One of the National Maritime Museum's most unusual items, Heath's panorama is now featured on a t-shirt.
Our t-shirt features the stern view of Nelson's double column order of battle at the Battle of Trafalgar.
The panoramic by William Heath (1795-1840) was originally mounted as a complete circle about 32 feet long and only a few spectators at a time would have been able to view it. Stepping into the centre from below, the spectator would have been confronted with a spectacular illusion, thrusting them into the middle of the battle.
The original materials are watercolour on sheets of paper laid on calico.
Given the size of the object it remains in storage at the National Maritime Museum.
