The Insight Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition is an annual celebration of the most beautiful and spectacular visions of the cosmos by astrophotographers worldwide. With over 2700 spectacular entries from over 60 countries, it's been the toughest year yet for our judges, and this fourth collection features all 138 winning and shortlisted entries for 2015.
Astronomical highlights of the previous year, from the total solar eclipse of March 2015 to the apparition of Comet Lovejoy, and subjects from across the cosmos including auroral lightshows, distant star clusters and colliding galaxies, are all showcased in high resolution colour.
‘The images in this book spectacularly convey the awe, wonder and excitement of our universe. They inspire, inviting us all to pick up our cameras and have a go!’
Astrophotographer, presenter of The Sky at Night and writer for BBC Sky at Night Magazine.
