Exclusive to Royal Museums Greenwich, this A3 print features Yu Jun's 'Baily's Beads' from this year’s Insight Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition.
Yu Jun says:
‘Baily’s Beads occur as the Moon passes in front of the Sun. From Earth it seems like the sunlight seen around the edge of the Moon is broken into fragments because the uneven lunar surface obscures some of the light. This creates the illusion of a string of beads encircling the Moon. Sometimes at this stage you can also see what is called the ‘Diamond Ring Effect’ where only one bead of light is prominent.’
A3 in size (29.7 x 42 cm). Includes a white border around the image.
Printed in the UK on quality deluxe matt laser paper at a stunning resolution. Comes in a presentation cardboard tube.
