Upcycled Sail Wash Bag
Whether on board a boat, train or aeroplane, or simply in the bathroom, keep your toiletries together in this unique washbag. Own a piece of maritime history, made from deaccessioned sails from the Royal Museums Greenwich collection.
As part of the museum’s disposal process we have had the sails upcycled in the UK into washbags and duffle bags. Each bag is unique and shows characteristics of its former life. Featuring contrast stitching detail and a strong webbing handle with metal D-ring, for ease of hanging up out of the way.

Made in Great Britain
A perfect gift for any sailing enthusiast. The brown fabric comes from sails made by Lapthom and Ratsey Ltd, 1949. They were made for a small Cadet Class 180 vessel. The lighter fabric comes from a main sail for a Merlin 116 and was probably given to the Museum as a spare for its Merlin No 2 vessel.
These items are crafted by expert bag makers on Topsham quay, Devon. The sail has completed its journey from the sea to studio and is ready to start a new life as an original washbag.+ Read more - Show less
