HMS Victory Pewter Lapel Pin

HMS Victory Pewter Lapel Pin

Regular price £4.00 Sale

Launched in 1765 as a first rate ship of the line and a favourite with admirals for her sailing ability, HMS Victory fought in three major sea battles. The last of these was Trafalgar on 21st October, 1805 where, carrying the flag of Admiral Horatio Nelson, she was first to break the French-Spanish line.

This HMS Victory lapel pin made from pewter is presented on a backing card which features a design of graphics which have been developed in collaboration with curators at the National Maritime Museum.

The design presents informative facts and figures about HMS Victory and the Georgian Navy. The nautical illustrations and in-depth facts bring alive the experiences of the crew on board at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

Facts about HMS Victory include:

She launched on 7th May 1765 and was Admiral Nelson's flagship.  She had 104 guns, 37 sails and 26 miles of rigging!

Part of our Navy and Nelson collection inspired by life and work at sea onboard HMS Victory and what it was like to be a sailor in the Georgian Navy.
