Prime Meridian Mug
Our super stylish Prime Meridian Mug features our iconic 00º 00’ 00” Prime Meridian of the World design that has been hand decorated on to a white earthenware mug. This is the perfect size for the very much needed tea or coffee break.
In 1884 the Prime Meridian was defined by the Transit Circle telescope at the Royal Observatory which was built by Sir George Biddell Airy, the 7th Astronomer Royal, in 1850. The cross-hairs in the eyepiece of the telescope precisely defined Longitude 0° for the world.
This Mug is exclusive to Royal Museums Greenwich and is part of our Prime Meridian & GMT collection.
