Be captivated by 140 winning and shortlisted images from the ZWO Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2025 competition, hosted by the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. These awe-inspiring images are submitted in nine main categories: Aurorae, Galaxies, Stars and Nebulae including stars, star clusters and supernova remnants and Our Moon. Plus Best Newcomer, the Annie Maunder Open Category and Young Competitor categories.

Each image is accompanied by caption, photographer, location and technical details. There is also a location map showing the origin of all images and a visual appendix of all images.

The judges are from an expert panel of distinguished astronomy experts.

Astronomy Photographer of the Year showcases the world's best space photography, from spectacular skyscapes to mind-blowing images of distant planets and galaxies.

The 2025 competition and exhibition are supported by ZWO x Seestar.

100 breathtaking images, including all the winners, runners-up and highly commended entries, from the ZWO Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2025 competition will be displayed in the Astronomy Photographer of the Year exhibition, hosted in the National Maritime Museum, from 12 September 2025.
