"The Isle of Lewis, one of the northern tips of the United Kingdom, is a land cut off by sea to the reaches of the North Atlantic. Approaching by ferry in the summer of 2022, we reached this far distant land. On checking the weather forecast before landfall, wall-to-wall clear skies were predicted. I wanted to make the best use of them. It was here the venture across the Isle of Harris to Lewis continued onwards to the small hamlet of Callanish. This is one of those legendary places; home to its infamous standing stones and a place where few people are lucky enough to go. Avoiding the midges brought out by the setting Sun, my mind conjured a vision of capturing the Milky Way above this iconic monument. Staying a literal stone’s throw away from the main site, I walked this ancient path alone and it felt as if the Universe was coming down onto me. In my experience I have never seen the arms of the Milky Way in such clarity from the darkest skies of the UK."
Our Custom Prints and frames are all handmade to the highest standards. As each Custom Print and frame is made to your required specification, they take a little longer to prepare. Custom Prints are printed on sustainable, matt 250gsm conservation digital paper. Unframed prints are carefully rolled with acid free tissue paper inside a sturdy cardboard tube. Frames are made in the UK from sustainably-sourced woods.
Custom Prints (those which are customised by choosing a size and frame) are made to order and therefore take a little longer than our standard fulfilment times. Please read our Delivery and Returns page for our latest information about UK and international shipping.
