This model ship is a replica of the world's last intact clipper ship, the Cutty Sark, now preserved in dry dock at Greenwich, London.

Please note this is not a build kit, the model is supplied completely assembled ready for display.

  • Large length 38cm

Long, lean and beautiful, the Cutty Sark was built in 1869 for the tea trade but was made redundant by the completion of the Suez Canal, which made steam ships more economical. Instead, she earned her living, and incredible reputation for speed, in the long distance wool trade (from Australia).

Please note, this model ship is not a toy and is not suitable for children under 3 years of age.

Disappointing

The model ship arrived safely in a plain cardboard box with packing. There was no picture of the Cutty Sark or any description of its fascinating history. which would have been helpful for the recipient. The model was flimsy, and I am glad I did'nt spend any more money for a bigger size.

Beautiful Souvenir of the Cutty Sark!

Living in the United States in New England, I am not able to visit the Cutty Sark. However I wanted to support the great ship. I wanted to order the largest model which was the medium but they were sold out. I ordered the small model. I must say that I am certainly happy with it. From the sails to the rigging it is a splendid reproduction of this legendary ship! It even has hand rails forward and aft as well as the deck houses. Lots of rigging and charming souvenir style anchors and chains round it out. If your looking for a fantastic souvenir of the ship, then I highly suggest this model. =-)
