This shows an almost-perfect, 22-degree halo around the Moon. It was taken just hours before the total lunar eclipse on 21 January. Sadly, the clouds you see in the background covered the whole eclipse. Maybe there is something in the old saying ‘when there are rings around the Moon, the following day will be stormy’. This time it certainly came true, but nevertheless perfect halos are also great to watch.
