Robins are associated with Christmas due to Victorian-era postmen, nicknamed "robins" for their red uniforms, who were depicted on early Christmas cards. This Victorian link also led to artists placing robin imagery on Christmas cards, showing the bird delivering letters.

The tradition of sending Christmas cards began in the Victorian era, and artists started depicting robins on them, which could represent the postman delivering the cards or the actual bird.
