Porthgwarra is a sheltered fishing cove in the west of Cornwall with the U-shape of the narrow cove being perfect for framing the Milky Way. I knew there was likely to be a boat in the cove but was very fortunate to find it perfectly positioned in the centre of the old slipway. I waited until the Milky Way was perfectly positioned, framed by the cove cliffs, and shot it using an iOptron SkyTracker Pro. I like the detail in the old slipway which shows many years of use by fishermen. The lines on the horizon are from passing boats. This is one of my favourite locations in Cornwall and it was a magnificent night under the stars.
