"When I was little, my grandma often told me mythical tales from Chinese folklore, in which deities lived in palaces in heaven. Now that I have grown up, I use photography to depict such scenes from these stories. The Jinyun Pagoda on Jinyun Mountain in Chongqing is a classical ancient Chinese pagoda and one of the stories features a Full Moon juxtaposed with this very pagoda. Using calculations from the app Planit, I set up a camera at a distance of 5.7 km west of the Jinyun Pagoda and shot with a 500 mm lens on the evening of 11 August 2022. At around 20:01, a Full Moon started to tower slowly above the pagoda from its left; at around 20:05, when the Moon and the pagoda were juxtaposed in the perfect positions, I pressed the shutter without hesitation to achieve this result. The pagoda in the photo appears as if it was a heavenly palace floating in the sky, in the embrace of the Moon." Liang Chen
