Perfected by Arabic and Persian astronomers, by the end of the seventeenth century, the Astrolabe was the most used instrument in the history of Astronomy.

One of the basic tools for astronomy education, the astrolabe can be used to tell the time, during the day or the night and to find the time and length of both sunrise and sunset. It can also be used to identify celestial objects in the night sky in order to determine latitude.

Still in use today, they can be used to illustrate in a clear and simple way the celestial mechanism and the apparent movement of the stars.

This detailed and decorative piece made from brass effect alloy would make anyone a pleasing gift.
