Celestron EclipSmart Solar Eclipse Glasses are an essential accessory for safely viewing partial and total solar eclipses. Designed for comfort, affordability, and maximum eye protection, these eclipse glasses make it easy for everyone to enjoy the spectacle of the Sun with total confidence.

These glasses are designed only for unaided eye viewing and should not be used with binoculars or telescopes. A magnifying optic concentrates far more light, which would be too strong for the film, risking eye damage. If you want to observe through a telescope or binoculars, you need a separate front-mounted solar filter rated for direct solar viewing.

The next solar eclipse in the UK will occur on 12 August 2026. This partial eclipse will almost be total, with around 90% of the Sun being obscured by the Moon at the maximum. Learn more about the partial eclipse here.

Featuring Celestron’s advanced Solar Safe filter technology, EclipSmart Solar Eclipse Glasses block harmful solar radiation, including 100% of UV and IR light and 99.999% of visible light. This makes them completely safe for direct solar viewing, whether you’re watching an eclipse, sunspots, or other solar events.

Each pair is manufactured using high-quality solar film that meets and conforms to ISO 12312-2:2015(E) international safety standards for direct solar observation. Independently tested and certified, these glasses ensure reliable protection for your eyes.

Designed with convenience in mind, the one-size-fits-all design includes two sets of fold marks, allowing the glasses tozen to comfortably fit a wide range of head sizes. This makes them ideal for families, classrooms, astronomy clubs, and group events.

Important safety note: inspect your glasses before every use. Do not use and discard if the solar film is damaged, torn, punctured, or separated from the frame in any way. Do not use these glasses in combination with any magnifying optical device (i.e., telescopes, binoculars).

  • Only observe the Sun with ISO-compliant eye protection, such as the filter found in this EclipSmart product. Never look directly at the Sun with the naked eye or a non-filtered optic. Permanent and irreversible eye damage may result.
  • Never tamper with or remove the permanently placed glass filters in this optic. Doing so is dangerous and will void your warranty.
  • Never leave your optic unsupervised. Make sure an adult who is familiar with its correct operating procedures is with your optic at all times, especially when children are present.
  • Never remove your eye protection when looking directly at the Sun during partial phases of a solar eclipse.

USER INSTRUCTIONS: Carefully inspect the solar filter material
before every use. Do not use and discard if the filter is damaged, torn, punctured, or separated from the frame in any way. Do not use with other optical devices. This is not a toy. Children should only use these glasses with adult supervision. Limit continuous use to 3 minutes, intermittently for several hours. When using this product, do not move around, drive a motor vehicle, or operate machinery. Do not use these glasses if you have a diseased eye or have undergone eye surgery.

WARNING: Never look at the Sun without special eye protection. When viewing the eclipse, always use eclipse glasses when any part of the Sun is visible. Direct viewing of the Sun can cause permanent damage if the proper precautions are not taken. Adequate eye protection specifically designed for viewing the Sun is essential and should be worn to prevent the Sun’s harmful rays from reaching the eyes. Clean with a soft cloth or
tissue only. Discard and do not use after 3 years.
