A hand-coloured engraving of optical instruments including telescopes and a camera obscura, engraved for the Encyclopedia Londinensis in 1820 as part of its treatment of optics. He described it in his Autobiography as "a work which without being high in any respect is one of the most generally useful that I have seen". Artist: J. Pass
